 The Securities & Maritime Fraud Division comprises 2 branches.
- The Securities Fraud Branch investigates all criminal offences under the Securities & Futures Act, which is the main legislation governing the local securities and futures industry. These include regulatory offences as well as market misconduct offences such as insider trading and market rigging. The Branch also enforces the Financial Advisers Act, the Commodity Trading Act and the Monetary Authority of Singapore Act.
- The Maritime & Investment Fraud Branch investigates maritime, investment and financing-related frauds. This broad portfolio covers fraud involving trade financing instruments like letters of credit, prohibited pyramid-selling schemes, fraudulent obtaining of financing and investment scams. The Branch also looks into major Criminal Breach of Trust and Cheating cases.
