FORMER Member of Parliament Chng Hee Kok was brought before a district court on three charges under the Companies Act yesterday. Chng, 59, is the chief executive officer of NTUC Club. NTUC Club general manager Shirley Lee Lai Ngoh, 58, who faced three similar charges, was also in court for the brief, 15-minute hearing. Each is accused of failing to declare their stakes in a company that has business dealings with three other companies where they are directors. Chng, a four-term MP from 1985 to 2001, and Lee appeared relaxed after arriving at the Subordinate Courts yesterday at 9am in a black Lexus sedan with their lawyer, Mr Lee Teck Leng. They appeared in court on police summonses, and the charges are not serious enough to warrant bail. Each allegedly failed to disclose their stake in IT company Stoval Technologies to the three companies where they were directors.
