FROM Nov 1, anyone carrying cash or negotiable instruments (CBNI) of more than $30,000, or the equivalent in foreign currency, in or out of Singapore will have to submit a report to the authorities. The measure is aimed at combating terrorism financing and money laundering. Affected individuals entering Singapore must submit a completed CBNI (traveller) form to any immigration officer at the Customs red channel. Departing individuals will have to submit their report to an immigration officer at the immigration counter. The forms are available at all checkpoints, police establishments, Singapore Visitors centres and Singapore Post branches. The forms can also be downloaded from the police and Commercial Affairs Department's website.
