On 7 February 2007, CAD organized a seminar on "Securities Trading - Avoiding Pitfalls". The half-day event was held at Police Cantonment Complex Auditorium and the theme of the seminar revolved around how the capital market players can do their part in safeguarding the integrity and reputation of our capital markets.
The response to the seminar was overwhelming and was attended by more than 200 participants from banks, securities houses, fund management companies, law firms and government agencies.
Seven speakers from Monetary Authority of Singapore, Singapore Exchange, Attorney-General's Chambers and CAD offered different perspectives to the various topics on securities trading. CAD also took this opportunity to reach out to the financial industry and request that all do their part in reporting suspicious transactions to us.
